Dr. Nowhera Shaik fights for women's rights

Dr. Nowhera Shaik, better known as New Iron Lady. Dr. Nowhera Shaik’s contribution in defending Women’s Rights is enormous.

Dr. Nowhera Shaik is a female business tycoon and social activist whose main motto is to uplift human rights, especially women’s rights. For this reason, she established a party named ‘All India Mahila Empowerment Party‘ (AIMEP), which aims to empower Indian women without discriminating based on caste, religion, creed, and ethnicity.

Dr. Nowhera strongly believes that majority of people are not living freely and oppressed one way or another. Some people exist below the poverty line and aren’t aware of the rights that the Indian Constitution gives.

While addressing the Public, Dr. Nowhera once said that “The Government has launched several poverty alleviation programs but still it has not reached a sizable number of people due to lack of implementation”.

The initial plan of developing AIMEP is to ensure that each citizen, whether man or woman in India, benefits from the government’s programs and policy.

Dr. Nowhera said India will not thoroughly get independence until its women uneducated and dependent on the male. She also stated that the significant motto of her party is to empower women from every nook and cranny of India. Dr. Nowhera worked in the health care sector that mainly focused on curing women’s health issues. Without being healthy inside out, no human can rise from the meager condition without having a healthy body. However, the main focus is on nutrition and pregnancy issues.

Another objective of the establishment of AIMEP is to work on the issue of crime against women. The party demands to initiate a strong Law that can restrict the violence against women and provide justice to women.

Dr. Nowhera also focused on eradicating child marriage which is still happening in several parts of the country. She said, “Child labor has also been banned legally but people are employing minor girls for domestic works. They have been left at the mercy of employers.”
