Dr. Nowhera Shaik paid her tribute to the Kargil martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas. It is a symbol of the extraordinary valour of the armed forces, and people will always be indebted to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives to protect Mother India’. Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of pride and glory of India. On this occasion, she salutes all the brave sons of the country who have accomplished their valour in the defence of the motherland. This day also reminds us of the duplicity of Pakistan which threw the Lahore Declaration to the dustbin by its nefarious designs on the heights of Kargil with the aim of not only disrupting the logistics line to Siachen Glacier but also occupying parts of Ladakh, she added.
The operation name was Vijay and after its success, it was named Kargil Vijay Diwas.
This year 2022 will be celebrating its 23rd anniversary of victory in Operation Vijay which is known as the Kargil War. On 26th July 1999, India got success after 60 days of war and took charge at the high outpost of Kargil which was lost to Pakistan intruders, and 26th July is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas. The operation’s name was Vijay and after its success, it was named Kargil Vijay Diwas. To commemorate Kargil War between India and Pakistan in1999, the Indian army built the war memorial known as Kargil War Memorial in Drass, where the actual war took place. India certainly won the conflict, yet the challenges have not vanished rather they have become stronger. While Pakistan remains an eternal enemy as its identity is only anti-India, it has formed a Sino-Pak axis to oppose India. China too remains a strategic rival of India.
